Mission Statement
Our goal as educators is to prepare students to become life-long learners who are ready for the technological age of the 21st century.

Teacher Training
We suggest a three year plan for integrating technology into the classroom. The three years would be used be as:

*Year 1--All teachers will feel confident and become proficient with the use and navigation of technology as a resource. This would include training/mentorship on how to utlize technology into the classroom without mandates, but teachers will be expected to integrate this newfound education and resources into their classroom by Year 2 in one subject. Extra support would be provided for those teachers who need additional assistance. Release time would be provided to model lessons or observe teachers who powerfully implement technology in their classroom. A listserv would be used for best practices (websites, lessons, tips) in the use of technology in the classroom.

*Year 2-- Beginning implementation of integration of technology into the classroom in at least bi-monthly. There will be ongoing support, training, and follow up in-services at least once a month provided for the teachers.

*Year 3-- On-going teacher training will include follow up in-services and support in the integration of technology into the classroom.

Class Time
Integration of technology into the classroom should be moving in the direction of creating engaged, independent, problem solving, and responsible citizens ready for the 21st century.

Technology Standards
*Basic keyboarding skills
*Familiarity with word processing (Microsoft Word), spreadsheets, and presentation software (Microsoft Powerpoint)
*How to electronically communicate with others (e-mail)
*Use technology to locate, collect, and research information
*Evaluate sources as well as responsibly cite
*Use technology to increase higher order thinking
*Engage/motivate self directed learners

Budget--The buget should be allocated to support the teacher training as stated in the three year plan in implementing technology into the classroom. We should invest in equalizing the resources across the district before investing in teacher training.
